Three Great New Features on iOS 8
With the much touted release of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple has also released an upgrade to the mobile operating system with the release of iOS 8. With many new features, as well as updates to existing features, reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Let's take a look at three of the top new or improved features for the iPhone and iPad operating system.
One of the most exciting new changes is a huge benefit to anyone who uses more than one Apple device. If, for example, you start working on a document on your iMac but then realize you need to head into work, you can pick up right where you left off on your iPhone or iPad on your subway ride, as long as each device is signed into the improved iCloud. You can also use your iMac or iPad to take phone calls and use your iPhone as a wifi hotspot.
Predictive text gets a big overhaul. As you type, suggestions for your next word appear above the keyboard. It's even able to use context to suggest words before you begin typing, and since it learns as you use it, it's surprisingly accurate. This is a nice replacement to the old way of doing things, where you would often find your phone autocorrected a spelling for you that you didn't want.
Improved Text Messaging
How many times has your phone been blown up with group text messages you didn't want to be a part of? Well now you can finally remove yourself from text threads, so when your friends are going on about going out this weekend when you already said you won't be able to join them, you won't receive constant beeps or vibrations every time one of them says something new.
That's not the only update to texting though. You can now quickly record and send audio clips or share your location.
There are a ton of other new features and improvements, including the way you can organize your photos, handle emails, a new Health app, new functions for Siri and more. There's even a new Tips app to help familiarize you with all the new bells and whistles in iOS 8.
Apple put a lot of effort into this major update, and any iPhone user should be excited to check out all the new features.
