Sony Pictures Held Hostage by Hackers
A hacker group called the Guardians of Peace has locked Sony Pictures employees around the world out of their computers and is holding them hostage, but the hackers aren't asking for money.
A person identifying themselves a a representative of the Guardians of Peace, or #GOP, called Lena has released this statement:
"We Want equality. Sony doesn't. It's an upward battle."
He or she went on to say that "Sony left their doors unlocked, and it bit them. They don't do physical security anymore. Sony doesn't lock their doors, physically, so we worked with other staff with similar interests to get in." If this is true, is seems to be an inside job, or it was at least assisted by a Sony employee or employees.
The #GOP are threatening to release compromised information if their demands, which have not yet been made public, are not met.
In the meantime, Sony Pictures employees will... do whatever people do at work without being able to use a computer.
