The Latest Phishing Emails

We were just looking over a new batch of email phishing scams that we’ve been seeing and thought it might be a good idea to pass them along. All of these are based on actual scam emails, some have embedded macros, some are spoofing national chain stores, and others are just straight con jobs. As always, keep an eye out and use common sense when opening emails.

  • "Thank you for your order!" Pretends to be an email from Macy’s confirming a nonexistent order.
  • "You have one new priority notification" Allegedly the recipient is due a sales commission.
  • "Your CreateIT invoice is past due"  Recipient is being notified of alleged past due bill.
  • "Your invoice from Hometown Financing" Recipient is being notified of alleged past due bill.
  • "Urgent Notice" Recipient is being notified of alleged past due bill.
  • "Outstanding balance requiring attention" Recipient is being notified of alleged past due bill.
  • "RE: Your invoice" Claims invoice sent by recipient was in error.
  • "Re: Your quote is attached." Alleged follow up on quote request.
  • "Mark Johnson Company Invoice"  Unpaid invoice follow-up.
  • "double charged" Claims recipient was double charges on a purchase.
  • "Thank you for your contribution" Thanking recipient for a alleged donation to a charity.
