Hackers Rob Banks of Millions
Hackers have stolen over $300 million from over 100 banks in Europe, Japan, Russia, the US and several other countries in an elaborate malware attack.
It is labeled as potentially the largest and most sophisticated heist ever. The unknown hacker or hackers infected computers at banks and installed surveillance software to learn the routines of bank employees. They would then create transactions that looked like everyday, normal business to move money into dummy accounts. Accounts have lost millions of dollars at a time from this scheme.
Banks have yet to speak out about the breach and customers have not yet been alerted. Though most of the incidents have affected Russian banks, banks in 30 different nations have fallen victim.
