Backdoor Exploit on Juniper VPN Software
Unauthorized code was found by Juniper Networks in a firewall that runs their ScreenOS software. The worry is that the code would allow hackers to infiltrate their entire system and decrypt VPN devices. All that without leaving a trace.
The problems stem from two vulnerabilities that Juniper discovered and disclosed after releasing patches.
Among many large corporations, the US government is one of Juniper's major clients, prompting the FBI to get involved to try to see if any foreign governments had been able to exploit the vulnerability, though the FBI has yet to make a comment on the situation.
